Ayrton Senna’s helmet might be the most recognizable paint scheme in motorsports history. Iconic
helmet artist, Sid Mosca helped create simple, yet striking colors representative of his Brazilian
homeland.
Fellow competitor Martin Brundle said that, “when you saw the flash of yellow in your mirrors during
qualifying, you’d jump out of the way because you didn’t want to be the driver that ruined the lap
everyone wanted to see that weekend.”
This Rheos helmet is what Ayrton used during his 1991 Formula 1 World Championship season for
McLaren – Honda.
